What Is Vehicle Excess?

Vehicle excess is the amount you may be responsible for in the event of damage, theft, or an accident during your rental period.

For example, if a package has a USD $2,000 excess, you could be liable for up to USD $2,000 per incident depending on the circumstances of the claim.

The higher the level of protection you select, the lower your excess responsibility becomes.

Young Driver Protection (Ages 21–25)

Drivers aged 21 to 25 years are considered higher-risk drivers under our insurance provider’s underwriting requirements.

For this reason, all drivers within this age group are required to purchase Island Basic+ Protection. This mandatory protection package cannot be waived and ensures younger drivers meet the minimum insurance requirements set by our insurer.

Drivers aged 26 years and over are free to choose any of our available protection packages.
