Rental Terms and Conditions

These Rental Terms and Conditions apply to all vehicle rentals made through gumbsiecarrental.com, gumbsiecarrental.ai, and directly with Gumbsie Car Rental. By making a booking, collecting a vehicle, or using any of our services through these platforms, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Rental Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree with any part of these Rental Terms and Conditions, you must not proceed with a booking or rental.
1. Eligibility Requirements
To rent a vehicle from Gumbsie Car Rental, the renter must:
Be at least 21 years of age. Minimum age requirements may vary depending on vehicle category
Hold a valid and current driving licence recognised in the country of rental
Present valid government issued photographic identification
Provide a valid credit or debit card accepted by Gumbsie Car Rental
Gumbsie Car Rental reserves the right to refuse any rental at its sole discretion, including where documentation, eligibility, payment verification, or suitability requirements are not met.
2. Bookings and Confirmation
All bookings are subject to vehicle availability at the time of pickup.
A reservation is confirmed only once payment or any required deposit has been successfully authorised or processed.
The renter is responsible for ensuring that all booking information provided is accurate, complete, and truthful. Any incorrect, incomplete, or misleading information may result in cancellation of the booking without refund.
3. Rental Period
The rental period commences and ends on the dates and times stated in the booking confirmation or rental agreement.
Vehicles returned after the agreed return time may incur additional charges, including additional daily rental charges and late return fees.
No refunds, credits, or rate adjustments will be issued for early vehicle returns unless expressly agreed in writing by Gumbsie Car Rental.
4. Authorised Use of Vehicle
The vehicle must be used in a responsible and lawful manner at all times. The renter must ensure that the vehicle:
Is not used for racing, speed testing, towing, off road driving, or any illegal activity
Is not used for commercial transport, ride sharing, courier services, or driving instruction unless expressly authorised
Is not driven while the driver is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substance
Is driven only by the authorised driver or drivers named on the rental agreement
Any breach of this section may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement without refund and may give rise to additional charges or liability.
5. Fuel Policy
Vehicles are supplied with a recorded fuel level at the start of the rental.
The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup.
If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, refuelling charges and applicable service fees will apply.
6. Charges, Payments, and Security Deposits
Rental charges, security deposits, and any additional fees must be paid in accordance with the rates and terms confirmed at booking.
A refundable security deposit may be required and will be released following vehicle return, subject to inspection and settlement of any outstanding charges.
The renter is fully responsible for all costs incurred during the rental period, including but not limited to:
Traffic and parking violations
Tolls, congestion charges, and administrative fees
Excessive cleaning costs
Damage beyond normal wear and tear
Gumbsie Car Rental reserves the right to deduct such charges from the security deposit or charge the payment method provided.
7. Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellation and refund policies vary depending on booking type, rate selected, and timing of cancellation.
No refunds will be issued for failure to collect the vehicle, late cancellations, or no shows.
Approved refunds, where applicable, will be processed to the original payment method used at the time of booking.
8. Vehicle Condition and Damage
Vehicles are supplied in a clean, safe, and roadworthy condition.
The renter must inspect the vehicle at pickup and report any existing damage before leaving the rental location. Failure to do so may result in the renter being held responsible for such damage.
The renter is responsible for all loss of or damage to the vehicle during the rental period, regardless of fault, subject to applicable insurance coverage.
Repair, replacement, loss of use, or recovery costs may be charged or deducted from the security deposit.
9. Insurance and Liability
No statutory, mandatory, basic, or third party insurance is included in the rental price.
The renter is solely responsible for ensuring that adequate insurance coverage is in place for the entire rental period. This may include, but is not limited to:
Third party liability
Collision damage
Theft
Personal injury
Any insurance purchased is a contract strictly between the renter and the insurance provider. Gumbsie Car Rental does not provide insurance, does not act as an insurer, and accepts no responsibility for the validity, scope, or adequacy of any insurance policy obtained by the renter.
In the absence of valid insurance coverage, the renter accepts full financial responsibility for all loss, damage, claims, costs, and liabilities arising from the rental or use of the vehicle.
Gumbsie Car Rental is not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings left in or on the vehicle at any time.
10. Breakdowns, Accidents, and Roadside Assistance
In the event of a breakdown, accident, or mechanical issue, the renter must notify Gumbsie Car Rental immediately.
Unauthorised repairs, towing, or vehicle modifications are strictly prohibited without prior approval.
Any costs arising from unauthorised actions will be the responsibility of the renter.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gumbsie Car Rental shall not be liable for:
Indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage
Loss of income, travel delays, missed connections, or inconvenience
Delays or failures caused by weather conditions, road conditions, mechanical failure, or events beyond reasonable control
12. Termination of Rental
Gumbsie Car Rental reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement immediately and without notice if:
These Rental Terms and Conditions are breached
The vehicle is misused, damaged, or operated unlawfully
False, misleading, or incomplete information is provided
In such cases, no refund will be payable and additional charges may apply.
13. Amendments to Terms
Gumbsie Car Rental may amend these Rental Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated versions will be published on gumbsiecarrental.com and gumbsiecarrental.ai with the revised date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.
14. Governing Law
These Rental Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable local laws and regulations of the rental jurisdiction.
